Her Excellency, Reem Alkhaled, the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Canada elected as chair of the Women Heads of Diplomatic Missions (WHDMO) in Canada


Her Excellency, Reem Alkhaled, the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Canada has been recently elected as Chair of the Women Heads of Diplomatic Missions (WHDMO) in Canada.

The Association is mainly focused on enhancing communication, strengthening cooperation, and bringing together female Heads of the Diplomatic Missions accredited to Canada through high-level meetings and interaction among the members, which contributes to strengthening the role of women within the diplomatic corps and affirming their contributions in Ottawa.

It is worth noting that the Association includes 32 female heads of Diplomatic Missions in Ottawa, representing various regional groups. The Association carries out various activities and holds meetings with Canadian officials, including the Governor-General, who attaches great importance to the Association, being the voice of women in the diplomatic community, and meets with the members once a year. The Association also plays a leading role in inviting officials in Canada from various ministries and all political parties and relevant institutions to exchange views on issues related to women locally and internationally and participating in events and social and humanitarian activities.
