His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah met with the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Honourable Mélanie Joly, to continue building on the nations’ strong bilateral relations.

The meeting focused on all aspects of the close historical relations that bind the two friendly countries and the efforts to strengthen and develop them at various levels to serve the common interests.

Discussions also included intensifying joint coordination and cooperation on many regional and international issues as well as continuing joint efforts to maintain international peace and security.

The bilateral discussions culminated in the signing of a memorandum of understanding regarding the establishment of a bilateral political consultation mechanism between the two foreign ministries, which reflected the determination of the two countries to develop and consolidate bilateral relations in all fields and at various levels.
