His Excellency Kuwait’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah met with the Minister of International Development and Minister responsible for the Pacific Economic Development Agency of Canada, The Honourable Harjit S. Sajjan in December 2022.

During the visit, Minister Sajjan met with Kuwaiti ministers and prominent government officials and private sector stakeholders to discuss opportunities for enhanced collaboration on shared priorities, such as food security, climate change, gender equality and women empowerment, peace and security in their region as well as developing nations.

The two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost cooperation between the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and Canada’s Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD) to finance economic and social development in the developing countries. The memo also covers bilateral coordination on response to humanitarian crises and natural disasters, technical expertise, and information sharing, which show determination of the two countries on developing bilateral ties and boosting them in all fields and on all levels.

His Excellency Kuwait’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah met with the Canada’s Defence Minister Anita Anand in December 2022.

Minister Anand and Chief of the Defence Staff General Wayne Eyre visited members of the Canadian Armed Forces in Kuwait to thank them for their service.

Minister Anand thanked Kuwait for its continued support to the CAF and for being a steadfast host and partner in the region.
